Linda Newbery
Linda Newbery is an award-winning British author of children's and young adult fiction. She has written over 30 books, including the Carnegie Medal-winning Sisterland and the Costa Award-winning The Shell House. Her other works include The Secret Summer of Daniel Lyons, The Memory Cage, and The Children of Winter. Newbery has also written several non-fiction books, including The Story of the Titanic and The Story of the First World War. She is a passionate advocate for literacy and has been a judge for the Carnegie Medal and the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize. Newbery is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and a member of the Society of Authors.
