David Solomons is a British author and screenwriter. He is best known for his children's fantasy series, The Dragon Detective Agency, which has been published in over 20 countries. He has also written several other books, including the award-winning The Boy Who Kicked Pigs and the critically acclaimed The Boy Who Sailed the Ocean in an Armchair. He has written for television, including the BBC series The Worst Witch and the CBBC series The Dumping Ground. He is also a script editor for the BBC's Doctor Who. He is passionate about inspiring young people to read and write, and has been a mentor for the charity First Story.
