Tilman Fertitta
Tilman Fertitta is an American businessman and entrepreneur. He is the owner of the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA), Landry's, Inc., and the Golden Nugget Casinos and Hotels. He is also the star of the CNBC reality show Billion Dollar Buyer.
Fertitta was born in Galveston, Texas, and attended the University of Houston. After graduating, he began working in the restaurant business, eventually taking over his father's seafood restaurant. He then founded Landry's, Inc., a hospitality and entertainment company, in 1980.
Fertitta has since grown Landry's into a multi-billion dollar business, with over 500 properties across the United States. He also owns the Houston Rockets, which he purchased in 2017 for a record-breaking $2.2 billion.
In addition to his business ventures, Fertitta is also an active philanthropist. He has donated millions of dollars to various charities and organizations, including the Houston Food Bank, the Houston Zoo, and the Houston Police Department.
