Indra Nooyi

Indra Nooyi is an Indian-American business executive and former CEO of PepsiCo. She is widely recognized for her leadership and business acumen, having been named one of the world’s most powerful women by Forbes for 12 consecutive years. Nooyi was born in Chennai, India, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from Madras Christian College. She then went on to earn an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. Nooyi began her career in India, working for Johnson & Johnson and Mettur Beardsell. She then moved to the United States, where she worked for Motorola and Asea Brown Boveri. In 1994, she joined PepsiCo as Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Development. Nooyi was appointed President and CFO of PepsiCo in 2001, and became CEO in 2006. During her tenure, she led the company’s transformation into a global food and beverage powerhouse. She also championed the company’s commitment to sustainability and health, launching initiatives such as the Performance with Purpose program. Nooyi stepped down as CEO in 2018, after 24 years with the company. She is currently the Chairperson of the International Cricket Council and a member of the Board of Directors of Amazon. She is also a member of the World Economic Forum’s International Business Council.
