Michael Kranish

Michael Kranish is an American journalist and author. He is a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter and the author of several books, including The Real Romney, Flight from Monticello: Thomas Jefferson at War, and The World’s Fastest Man: The Extraordinary Life of Cyclist Major Taylor, America’s First Black Sports Hero. Kranish has worked for The Boston Globe since 1997, where he is currently the political enterprise and investigations editor. He has written extensively about politics, business, and sports, and has won numerous awards for his work. He was part of the Globe team that won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service in 2003 for its coverage of the clergy sexual abuse scandal in the Catholic Church. Kranish has also written for The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and The Atlantic. He is a frequent guest on television and radio programs, including NPR, MSNBC, and Fox News. He has also appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report. Kranish is a graduate of the University of Michigan and holds a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. He lives in Massachusetts with his wife and two children.
