Karla Cornejo Villavicencio
Karla Cornejo Villavicencio is an Ecuadorian-American writer, activist, and educator. She is best known for her work on immigration, race, and gender. She is the author of The Undocumented Americans, a collection of essays about the lives of undocumented immigrants in the United States. She has also written for The New York Times, The Guardian, and The New Yorker.
Karla was born in Ecuador and immigrated to the United States when she was five years old. She grew up in the Bronx, New York, and attended the City College of New York. She is a graduate of the MFA program at Columbia University.
