William C. Rempel

William C. Rempel is an American journalist and author. He is best known for his investigative reporting on the Enron scandal and his book, The Wizard of Lies: Bernie Madoff and the Death of Trust. He has written for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, and other publications. Rempel has won numerous awards for his work, including the Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting in 2002 for his coverage of the Enron scandal. He has also been honored with the George Polk Award, the Gerald Loeb Award, and the Investigative Reporters and Editors Award. Rempel is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and has a master's degree in journalism from the University of Southern California. He is currently a senior writer for The Los Angeles Times and a contributing editor for The New Yorker. Rempel is a passionate advocate for investigative journalism and has spoken at numerous conferences and universities about the importance of investigative reporting. He is also a mentor to aspiring journalists and has been a guest lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Southern California.
