Carlo Collodi
Carlo Collodi was an Italian author and journalist best known for his classic children's story, The Adventures of Pinocchio. Born Carlo Lorenzini in Florence in 1826, Collodi was the son of a cook and a seamstress. He studied law at the University of Pisa, but never practiced. Instead, he pursued a career in journalism, writing for several newspapers and magazines.
In 1881, Collodi began writing a serialized story for a children's magazine called Giornale per i Bambini. The story was about a wooden puppet named Pinocchio who comes to life and embarks on a series of adventures. Collodi wrote the story in a humorous and satirical style, and it quickly became popular with children and adults alike. The story was eventually published as a novel in 1883 and has since been translated into over 300 languages.
Collodi's work has been adapted into numerous films, plays, and other works of art. He is remembered as one of the most influential authors of children's literature, and his work continues to be enjoyed by readers of all ages.
