Alex Michaelides
Alex Michaelides is a British author and screenwriter. He is best known for his debut novel, The Silent Patient, which was a New York Times bestseller and has been translated into over 30 languages. He has also written for film and television, including the feature film The Devil You Know and the television series The Missing.
Michaelides was born in Cyprus and moved to London at the age of seven. He studied English Literature at Cambridge University and went on to pursue a career in screenwriting. He has written for a number of television shows, including the BBC's The Missing and ITV's The Level.
Michaelides' debut novel, The Silent Patient, was published in 2019 and quickly became a bestseller. It tells the story of a woman who is accused of murdering her husband and refuses to speak. The novel has been praised for its psychological depth and suspenseful plot.
Michaelides is currently working on his second novel, which is due to be released in 2021. He is also developing a feature film adaptation of The Silent Patient. He lives in London with his wife and two children.
