Jenny Han
Jenny Han is a New York Times bestselling author of young adult fiction. She is best known for her To All the Boys I've Loved Before series, which was adapted into a Netflix movie in 2018. Han was born in South Korea and moved to the United States when she was five years old. She grew up in Virginia and attended the University of Virginia, where she earned a degree in English.
Han's writing career began in 2006 with the publication of her debut novel, Shug. Since then, she has written several other novels, including The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy, Burn for Burn trilogy, and To All the Boys I've Loved Before trilogy. Her books have been translated into over thirty languages and have been featured on the New York Times bestseller list.
Han is also the author of the middle grade novel, The Way I Used to Be, which was a finalist for the National Book Award. She has also written a picture book, Clara Lee and the Apple Pie Dream, and a graphic novel, The Baby-Sitters Club: The Graphic Novel.
In addition to her writing, Han is an advocate for Asian American representation in literature. She is a founding member of We Need Diverse Books, an organization that works to promote diversity in children's literature. Han is also a mentor for the Asian American Writers' Workshop and a member of the PEN America Writers' Emergency Fund.
