Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé is a Nigerian-American writer, editor, and educator. She is the author of the novel A Phoenix First Must Burn, a collection of YA short stories about Black girl magic. She is also the co-editor of the anthology New Daughters of Africa, which celebrates the work of African women writers. Faridah is passionate about amplifying the voices of marginalized communities and has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, The Guardian, and The Atlantic. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Southern California. Faridah is currently a professor of Creative Writing at the University of California, Riverside.
