L. M. Montgomery
Lucy Maud Montgomery (1874-1942) was a Canadian author best known for her novel Anne of Green Gables. Born in Prince Edward Island, Montgomery wrote over 20 novels, 500 short stories, and numerous poems. Her works have been translated into over 30 languages and have sold over 50 million copies worldwide. Montgomery was a prolific writer, often drawing inspiration from her own life experiences. She was a passionate advocate for women’s rights and was a founding member of the Canadian Women’s Press Club.
