Roger McGough

Roger McGough is an English poet, performance poet, broadcaster, children's author and playwright. He first came to prominence in the 1960s as one of the Liverpool Poets, along with Adrian Henri and Brian Patten. His poetry is known for its wit, wordplay, and humorous observations of everyday life. McGough has written over 40 books of poetry, including Summer with Monika, The Mersey Sound, and Selected Poems. He has also written plays, libretti, and children's books. He has been awarded numerous honors, including an OBE in 1997 and the Freedom of the City of Liverpool in 2008. He continues to write and perform to this day.
